PC Matchmaking Broken, or no players?

I prefer the solo experience I’m far from cheap but I don’t believe ANY game is worth more than that. I have now completed all 4 levels, including veteran, and some of the Special Ops addition included. Took me about 4 days. Great detail in weapons I wish there was more. Story line a bit over the top, but good.

Newly divorced Clea Lavoy, the founder and owner of the company, seeks out the help of her friend and employee Denise Johnson to reignite her romantic life. She struggles continually to find love despite Denise’s best attempts. The future of the agency is jeopardized since its success relied on advertising Clea’s “successful”, nearly decade-long marriage. Busy Philipps as Denise Johnson, a dating consultant and self-described expert at matchmaking, who provides her clients with “come-on lines to use and avoid; wardrobe and grooming hints, and conversation starters and stoppers”.

After being contacted by her ex-boyfriend to find his perfect match, she becomes cynical about dating and love, saying “I’ve been Wing Womaning my butt off”. Clea is “thrust into the dating world” following the end of her nearly decade-long marriage, [12] during which her husband has an affair with a younger woman. The series was originally designed as a star vehicle for Doherty, [11] who portrayed Denise Johnson in the unaired pilot.

According to him, Doherty wanted to change her negative reputation after leaving Beverly Hills, and Charmed by acting on the show. Peete praised her performance saying “we had so much fun and such a great vibe”. UPN Entertainment’s president cited the rationale behind Doherty’s departure using the “standard going-in-a-different-direction reason”. Vieluf said the alterations in the series’ premise were due to concerns that “people would get tired of a show that was only about the mishaps of one person’s love life”.

The MCC has had matchmaking issues since it launched in November of , and acknowledges those issues were due in large part to the way the collection was developed. Recent updates, along with the release of the Xbox One X, have provided the team with an opportunity to resolve long-standing issues. O’Connor states that these updates were not possible until recently, due to a number of improvements the platform team made over the last year.

Since their work has been reliant on a number of different systems instead of just one issue, estimating the timing of the update has been difficult until now. Some problems arose from the way testing occurred at Due to smaller test sizes, the studio never experienced the issues that would pop up once the game was released. Updates to the Xbox One online system have changed the game for , and the team can now resolve these issues by reworking the foundation of MCC.

O’Connor acknowledged his own struggles with MCC’s development issues, and said he understands player frustration. Every angry mail I received, I took to heart. I felt like I had personally let our fans down. You have complaints or questions, and we try to answer them as best we can, but sometimes bad information is worse.

Star Citizen dev announces 400 quadrillion cubic kilometer expansion, no release date

Year in, year out, games — via Steam and otherwise — are produced in such varying degrees of quality that no announcement is destined for certain success. Masterpieces are released alongside utter disasters, franchises are born while others dwindle and occasionally — so very occasionally — a game actually lives up to our expectations.

The game promises to have historically accurate armour, weapons and combat techniques, and is intended to allow the player to become whoever they want – rogue, warrior or bard.

A roundup of ‘Star Citizen’ images and news, including details on playable builds of the game coming later this year, and an epic new starship trailer.

I was very surprised to find a sub-forum for Star Citizen here. This particular topic has been debated quite a bit, but I think Chris’ post that was linked above covers most bases. One important thing here is that just because a game offers players to purchase in-game money or content does not automatically make it P2W. We have all seen these horrible mobile games where you can either wait for several hours for a magic barrier to be unlocked, or you can pay some money and get whatever it is you want for free.

This is a horrible practice, and such games should be avoided like the plague. Games without in-game purchases cater to people with a lot of spare time. Games with in-game purchases cater to people with spare money. People who have neither spare time nor spare money sadly have bigger problems on their hands than being able to buy a shiny digital space ship. SC will allow people to purchase in-game credits at roughly the same rate as they would have been able to earn them in game.

This will also help fund future developments of the game as there will be no monthly fee. Will SC be P2W?

Team Fortress 2’s Competitive Matchmaking Beta Plans

The Generic Instance Manager manages instances for Arena Commander and Star Marine, and will also generate and recycle instances for the multiplayer hangars and the persistent universe. The new Frankfurt studio and some ex-Crytek leads from the studios in LA and Austin are currently helping with that. Lastly, new characters, weapons and animations recorded with motion capture are being implemented, alongside subtler changes to the maps, including lighting and detail passes.

The biggest issue is that most of the latest Arena Commander work has been done alongside Star Marine, and was supposed to launch with version 1.

Eurogamer’s Robert Purchese writes: Star Citizen is a bit like an Instagram account: what you see looks amazing but the reality is hollow. As it stands, at major milestone alpha , Star Citizen does not convince as a game. But as a picture-postcard-maker – as a demonstration of technology – it’s.

Whether it’s flailing developers or consumer movements apparently schooled in jurisprudence via a distracting hand gesture and a shovel, game culture makes bad legal culture. This story is not a departure from that trend. Star Citizen is an ambitious crowdfunded space sim under lengthy development. Like many highly anticipated games, it has fanatical devotees and critics. Recently it drew the unwanted attention of Derek Smart, a name familiar to old gamers like me. Who is Derek Smart?

He’s the Orly Taitz of computer gaming. He’s a game developer — technically — and a career lawsuit-threatening troll. His team of lawyers is like a fundamentalist preacher’s God: He’s a multi-millionaire, apparently, but then so are Carrot Top and that awful TV woman with the eight cute kids. It’s been a long time in American culture since self-made wealth signified someone to be taken seriously.

Anyway, hearing of crowdfunder complaints about the awaited Star Citizen, Smart criticized it. He invoked his vast experience in having produced the Howard The Duck, the Edsel, the New Coke of space sims, a monstrosity called Battlecruiser AD, which is distinguishable from a computer virus in that it was promoted more douchilly.

‘Star Citizen’ Update: ‘Diablo 3’ Producer Joins Team; Dog Fighting Module Delayed

Players will have access to planetary surfaces for the first time on four moons Yela, Daymar, and Cellin along with an asteroid Delamar. These new surfaces are expansive, with over 3 million square kilometers dotted with surface outposts and derelict ships. Additionally, we have added four new ships, our first dedicated surface vehicle Ursa Explorer , the foundation of our revamped mission system with new missions, a completely new launcher and patcher system, and so much more!

It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER folder for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. Many new features are present as a first implementation and still have numerous adjustments and tweaks to be made to bring them to full design specifications. With so many new systems coming online, there are likely to be numerous bugs left to smash and balance changes to hammer out.

Random Article Blend Cloud Imperium Games community manager Ben Lesnick has stepped forward to address some of the harsh criticisms leveled at Star Citizen, some of which come from veteran game designer Derek Smart, best known for the Battle Cruiser games. Over on the CIG forums , Lesnick addressed one of the bigger elephants in the room: Lesnick also addressed that the FPS module was not “indefinitely delayed”.

The rest of the post addresses other concerns, such as the team not being communicative enough and feature creep — some feel as if Cloud Imperium Games, at the behest of Chris Roberts, are adding more and more content to the game and that it will never release. However, Lesnick points out that a lot of the features they’re working on were already outlined in the game’s Kickstarter a few years back. The other big feature for Star Citizen is the persistent universe mode, the mode that will bridge together all main gameplay modules.

April 21, Valve adds Phone Number Requirement for Dota 2 Ranked Matchmaking Players have until May 4th to link their phone number or become ineligible for ranked play. By Sam Stewart Valve has announced a number of major changes to Dota 2’s matchmaking, most notably an all-new feature that would require players to link their phone number to their Steam account in order to play ranked matchmaking. According to the post on the Dota 2 Blog , the developers hope that this change will cut down on players using multiple accounts and lead to a more positive matchmaking experience at all skill levels.

Players will have until May 4th to register their numbers, at which point any account without a linked number will be ineligible for ranked play. In addition to phone number linking, Valve is bringing back solo queue along with an option to only match against other players that are queuing alone. In the past some solo players would occasionally be placed in matches with teams to speed up the matchmaking process, but now players can choose to opt out of these games.

Valve is also making changes to the reporting and discipline systems within Dota 2. From now on any player marked for low-priority matches a special queue for highly reported players will receive a duration based ban from ranked matchmaking. This punishment will be added in addition to the penalty games players currently receive.

The other big feature for Star Citizen is the persistent universe mode, the mode that will bridge together all main gameplay modules.

This mode is on delay until the team can finish up the FPS module and completely rework some of the multiplayer matchmaking so they don’t run into the same problem that Halo: The Master Chief Collection ran into, which resulted in months and months of the game’s multiplayer just not working as intended.

One of the big issues I think a lot of people have are all the subsystems included in the main features. For instance, just adding the FPS module isn’t some standalone compartment; the FPS mode has to work well with the crew and cargo features for the larger ships and work properly for boarding missions, cargo runs and trading functionality, all of which are core features of the persistent universe mode.

Ensuring that the subsystems are working right also ensures that the main modules are also working properly. After the team finishes up the FPS module they plan on putting all their focus on the persistent universe mode for Star Citizen , something that was briefly showcased in a video earlier this year showing one of the planetary hubs that players can visit.

Crytek sues Star Citizen studio in tangled lawsuit

But what exactly does that mean? And why can such major, generally secure services be impacted by these attacks? Denial-of-service attacks have been around for the equivalent of eons in the internet age. Online video game services are no strangers to being targets of DDoS attacks; previous generations of gaming have experienced them, though there has been a frequent spate of successful attacks against multiple gaming networks over the past year that have included Battle.

In , Chris Roberts went on Kickstarter with his pitch for a space simulation game “Star Citizen” and a Wing Commander style single player mode entitled “Squadron 42” Much has been promised to backers over the course of the last 6 years. Expectations for the titles are stratospheric, bordering on outlandish; with Chris himself setting the tone.

Star Citizen received a huge patch last week, one that added new enemy ships to the Arena Commander mode and made many fixes to its network code. Most importantly, though, there are now flushable toilets. One of the modes in Arena Commander lets you fight in a combat simulation against AI ships. This will spice up single player a tad but the real changes come in the form of multiplayer updates. One of the focuses of this patch was taking feedback from the community and balancing the ships for dogfighting.

For players this means that you will connect successfully to a match much more often, experience far fewer random disconnects, and in the event you are disconnected you will be able to rejoin the match much more readily. These future changes include dead reckoning to increase the visual quality of ship movement while simultaneously reducing the amount of data sent to the game clients, along with adding time synchronization to allow the client to display the current game state sent from the server more accurately.
